Women for Women International

Providing social and economic empowerment training for women in conflict‑affected countries

Since 1993, Women for Women International, a non-governmental organization, has helped nearly 429,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. Working directly with women in eight countries, Women for Women International offers support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and isolation to stability and empowerment.

Women for Women International’s year-long training program provides life‑changing skills, training, and stability to women, helping them:

  • Increase their earning power, which averages less than USD 1 per day before they enroll
  • Understand their rights to influence the decision-making in their homes and communities
  • Develop health and well-being for themselves and their families
  • Connect to networks for strength, support, and resources
Program goals:

UNFCU Foundation funds will enable a group of 25 marginalized women in the South Sudan to complete Women for Women International’s12-month social and economic empowerment program. These women come together to build networks, share experiences, and learn critical life, business, and vocational skills.
