9th Annual Kilimanjaro Initiative Golf Outing

Golf to transform the lives of youth living in impoverished communities in Kenya.

Play golf and change lives on 19 October at Cherry Valley Club in New York. All proceeds from this event will go to Kilimanjaro Initiative (KI) and the Africa Golf Project (AGP). AGP is a new initiative that will be launched in 2018 by the UNFCU Foundation and Kilimanjaro Initiative (KI), in partnership with The First Tee of Metropolitan New York.

Both KI and AGP use sports to encourage youth to have self-belief. KI takes youth on a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro and AGP uses golf to build confidence.

About Kilimanjaro Initiative

Kilimanjaro Initiative has been sponsoring youth from disadvantaged communities in Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro since 2006. The climb encourages youth to have self-belief and helps them discover commonalities with their peers from different economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.

About The First Tee of Metropolitan New York

The First Tee of Metropolitan New York (TFTMNY) was founded in 2001 with the mission to impact the lives of minority and under-privileged youth by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. TFTMNY is part of an international network comprised of more than 200 facilities dedicated to providing access to those youth that have traditionally been denied access to the game that teaches valuable Life Skills and Nine Core Values.
