Building Tomorrow

Providing children access to inclusive and transformative education in underserved communities in Uganda

Building Tomorrow improves access to child-friendly, community-supported schools. The organization works hand-in-hand with local communities and government agencies to build new primary schools.

Building Tomorrow recruits recent Ugandan university graduates as 'Fellows' and places them in hard to reach schools for two years. Each Fellow serves four rural schools and works with the communities to transform the underperforming schools into thriving schools.

The UNFCU Foundation grant will support the deployment of five Fellows to improve the quality of education at 20 Ugandan public primary schools.

Program goals:
  • Enroll 810 out-of-school children in public primary schools
  • Improve literacy level and numeracy level among 900 children enrolled in schools
Your donation of:
  • $20.00 will allow one student to learn fundamental literacy and numeracy skills
  • $50.00 will support a Building Tomorrow Fellow in identifying an out-of-school child and enrolling them in school
